Message from the Scientific Chairman

We are proud to host the 14th Asian-Oceania Congress of Endocrinology (14th AOCE) this year in Malaysia. The theme for this year is ‘Strength through Diversity’. The programme for this Congress has concentrated on linking basic medical and clinical research to clinical practice covering almost every aspect of endocrinology. We also have many prominent colleagues from all over the globe to share their thoughts and opinion in subjects spanning from basic science, clinical research to clinical practice. There are certainly many endocrine challenges and some of them are unique not only to Asia, but also to the world at large.

Diabetes and its cardiovascular implications will be looked at in details and almost all aspects of endocrinology ranging from adrenal, pituitary, osteoporosis, paediatric to endocrine surgery will be covered in the Congress. This is supplemented by 2 Pre-Congress Workshops on Advanced Endocrinology, a joint session with American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and Thyroid Ultrasound and FNAC.

We trust that the 14th AOCE will continue the tradition of AOCE being a friendly platform for interaction and exchange of ideas, sharing of research and clinical experience. Indeed, together we hope to be able to address the strength of diversity not only in Asia but also in the world. On behalf of the local organising committee and the Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society, we welcome you to the 14th AOCE and look forward to your active participation.
